CIBC Mobile Advice
Responsible for a 1,600 person national team of mobile/roving/remote workforces (Mobile Mortgage Advisors, Imperial Service Direct Financial Advisors, Mortgage Options Specialists and Mobile Investment Consultants)
The Challenge
CIBC Mobile Advice had seen a number of leadership changes and the business was becoming more and more key to the bank. As a result, volumes were exploding and some changes needed to be made. The new SVP who had been there for about a year, was aware of the need for the leadership team to move to the next level in terms of their ability to work collaboratively together. This was complicated by the fact that many of them were located across the country.
Nxknowledge supported the client in moving to the next level in terms of their ability to work collaboratively to achieve their business results.
The Work (Nxk Difference)
We began by coaching the leader on his leadership style, conducting individual interviews of all team members both to gather information as to the issues and challenges facing them and also to coach them on their roles in improving their team functioning. The common themes from the interviews were then fed back to them at an off-site business teaming session where the emphasis was on learning how to engage in productive conversations where undiscussables were raised and assumptions challenged
The Results
The issues that hadn’t surfaced previously were addressed and they came away with greater alignment around their business goals and priorities. In addition, concrete deliverables were identified, including one innovative idea that they would pilot for 6 months that would enhance their ability to deliver on the increasing organizational demands.
“I have worked with Nxk previously in my roles both at RBC and UBS and have found them to be a tremendous asset in helping me build a vision, mission and ultimately an extremely high performing leadership team. In addition, Nxk has worked extensively with CIBC in the past in a variety of leadership consulting capacities.”
